Corporate Advisory Group

ALP advises employers on all aspects of employment law, including dispute resolution and general advisory.

For dispute resolution, our work often involves defending corporate clients against unfair dismissal claims and representing our clients in union & labor relations matters. While for general advisory, our employment practitioners render a wide range of services including the drafting of employment contracts for executives & senior management staff, handbooks & regulations in compliance with Nigerian law and the design & implementation of employee benefit schemes.

We have developed particular expertise in handling tax matters for businesses operating in our primary sectors, namely Oil & Gas, Construction & Real Estate,  and Financial Services. We engage in all aspects of tax litigation leveraging on our experience to ensure a successfully challenge to unfair tax assessments.

We have a core group of Practitioners that are committed to helping companies develop written Corporate Codes of Conduct and to adhere to Governance best practices. We provide the full range of Company Secretarial services and guarantee corporate compliance & good standing. Where necessary, services are rendered through ALP Nominees Limited, a fully owned company, that has secured prestigious mandates to act as secretaries to both large and small companies. In addition, we can act as registered office of client companies.

We focus on helping clients protect their business by protecting their intellectual rights and brand.  We handle the structuring, negotiation and preparation of various agreements for the transfer of technology, international franchising and exploitation of intellectual property rights through licensing and Joint Venture schemes.

We handle trademark, designs and patent filings along with opposition proceedings. We are swift to enforce our clients’ IP rights.
